Panasonic Toughbook FZ-T1, Toughbook FZ-L1 launched in India: Price, specifications, features

Panasonic has quietly launched two ‘rugged’ handheld devices in India. Called the Toughbook FZ-T1 and the Toughbook FZ-L1, these aren’t your standard mobile devices, but are instead aimed at those who need a rugged device to remotely do their job. Read on to find out all the details about the two Android-based devices.

Panasonic Toughbook FZ-T1 features, specifications

Though it is called a Toughbook, the FZ-T1 is more of a smartphone with a compact form factor. The device comes with a built-in barcode scanner, and can connect to resource management systems and databases.

It sports a 5-inch multitouch display with a 1280×720 pixels resolution. The screen comes with support for rain sensing, glove touch mode, and can also accept a passive pen input.

Under the hood is a 1.1GHz quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage. On the software front, the device runs Android 8.1 Oreo. Another highlight of the device is its build quality that is up to MIL-STD810G standards, as well as the IP68 certification.

The second device is the Toughbook FZ-L1, which is a more professional-grade tablet. It features a 7-inch display with 1280×720 pixels resolution, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor paired with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of inbuilt storage.

Panasonic claims the battery on the tablet is capable of surviving up to 12 hours. The tablet too has been built to MIL-STD810G standards, and is IP67 certified. There are two variants to choose from – Wi-Fi only for indoor operations, and cellular variant for outdoors use.

Panasonic has been a bit vague when it comes to the pricing of the devices. It says that prices start from Rs 60,000, and will go up based on customizations.
