Xiaomi has opened the Poco Community for everyone on Monday. The company was previously testing it with a select group of users. It aspires Poco to be an independent brand, and hence Poco Community is a separate forum than MIUI.

“It has been a while since we have been testing the community with a select group of users, but now it is time to open the gates and get the ball rolling!” noted Xiaomi’s Poco Forum. The blog post notes that the buzz around Poco has been phenomenal, and Poco Community will be a place where like-minded people can come together and discuss everything from technology to gaming.

Xiaomi launched the Poco F1 to counter OnePlus’ growing popularity in the premium mid-range segment. The Poco F1 comes with top-of-the-line hardware, but with at a cheaper price tag of Rs 20,999. The company is looking to shift from its online-only strategy for Poco and it started selling devices in the offline channel as well. The Chinese smartphone maker has recently announced that it will start selling Poco handset through Mi preferred partners and Mi Home stores across the country.

The idea of selling Poco phones in the offline market is said to be driven by strong demand for smartphones in the offline segment during the Diwali season. The move could be seen as a way for the company to drive sales for the new smartphone and reach new volumes for Poco brand in the country.

The Xiaomi Poco F1 will see a temporary price drop from December 6 to 8 on Flipkart and Mi.com/in. The company is planning to sell Poco F1 with up to Rs 5,000 discount during three days of the promotion. The Rs 5,000 discount will likely apply only to the top-end 8GB/256GB variant of the phone, but we could see a decent price drop on the popular 6GB/64GB variant as well.
